Sanibel Island

Don & I went to Sanibel Island this past week. We went because Don was getting an award for one of his photographs (congratulations, you deserve it) and because we were celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary.

Don is an awesome man, husband, friend and dad. I am glad I married him. He is always there for me through the bad times and the good times.

Sanibel Island is one of those good times. Here are a few pictures for you to see why we love it so much.

Nobel Peace Prize

"In his 1895 will, Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses."

I don't often express my opinion on politics, prefering to keep my opinions to myself. But.... I couldn't pass on this one. Has he really done anything yet to deserve such an honor? Maybe one day, but not yet.

The sweetest granddaughters!!

I have absolutely the sweetest, most well behaved, lovable granddaughters in this entire world and I just want everyone to know it. I am very proud of you and I love you all "more".

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I woke up from a deep sleep at 5:00 this morning,with this verse running through my mind. I have to wonder if I am being reminded that life is precious, no matter what is being thrown at you. So because of this verse today and apparently the need for me to be reminded of it, I am going to put on a happy face and leave my troubles with the Lord. I hope you have a wonderful day!
